Choosing the right career and taking the right pathway to that career are crucial to every young person’s future. These decisions affect not only the next three or four years at university, but also the satisfaction you will derive from your entire working life. Building a study plan is a key to success. You need set your goals, find your path, pull together your courage, and most importantly, prepare yourself, both academically and psychologically, for this long journey.

 选择正确的职业，并明确通往该职业生涯的正确道路，对于每一个年轻人的未来而说都是至关重要的。这些决定不仅影响您今后大学的学习和生活，并且事关您的职业生涯。建立学习计划是成功的关键：设定目标，寻找道路，鼓足勇气——最重要的是，在学术上和心理上都做好准备，踏上这漫长的旅途。

 A foundation programme offers guidance in determining your long-term career goals. We have people to advise and support you. Our staff and teachers will also help you to devise a study plan  to achieve your goal. By learning how to work as a member of a team, engage in case studies and group discussions, you will prepare yourself well for future challenges. In my numerous years of teaching, I’ve seen hundreds of students developing while they attend foundation courses. I’ve watched them grow from immature students with no sense of direction into goal-oriented students, who are now enjoying success and are confident of the path they have chosen.
